Description
Hornby R3227 BR 2-8-0 Class OI “63663”. DCC Ready The LNER Class O1s were designed by Edward Thompson to haul heavy freight trains. Due to wartime restrictions on new new-build locos, the class was rebuilt from existing LNER Class O4 ‘ROD’ locomotives. The O1s featured modifications such as a standard LNER 100A boiler, Walschaerts valve gear, and new cylinders. No examples were saved for preservation. This engine is in “as new” condition except The front bumper was damaged on delivery and has now been repaired. Apart from this , there are no blemishes or marks and everything is as it should be with a new engine. It has been fully tested and is an excellent runner It comes in its original box along with the detailing set and documents
